Latest News From Grafham Village Shop – (28th) February 2024

Beware the Hides of March – Coming Very Soon:- During March, the Shop Committee’s Chief Squirrel will be hiding £25 worth of money-off vouchers around the village (within the 30mph boundaries). Each Monday four A5 encapsulated vouchers – three £5 and one £10 will be strategically placed in interesting locations. The vouchers can only be reclaimed at the shop and are valid until 31st March. Terms and conditions will apply.

Tweak to Sunday opening hours: Sunday opening will be extended back to 10am-4pm from 17th March to coincide with the campsite re-opening.

Race Night – 20th April:- We are really pleased to be working with The Grafham Trout to organise a Race Night in aid of the shop and its roof repair… see adjacent poster. There is also a raffle in aid of Hunts Community Cancer Network (HCCN).

Roof Saga – End in Sight:- After much wailing and gnashing of teeth, let alone our best efforts at DIY repairs, there was yet another modest trickle in February. So the shop committee has now bitten the bullet and decided to invest in a professional repair with a warranty. This decision has been made easier with the help of a £500 donation from the Firework Committee and promising support already for the Race Night.

Temporary Closure – while the internal repairs are underway – expected to be half a day most of the shop will be closed but we hope to be able to service villagers collecting their newspaper

Souper Tuesday’s – Thank you to everyone who supported our “free soup” offer during February. Visitors seemed to appreciate the nice smell, the novelty and it encouraged a few more customers and sales during lunchtime. Thank you Belinda for getting the soup, Debbie for the loan of your cauldron – we trust it is now back with your besom!
